I’m just a girl, standing in front of the pantry…wondering wtf to eat.
Hey there I’m Tammy, your average mom, not a guru, not perfect. Trying very hard to do the right thing for my body (and for the kids) by eliminating grains from our diet for a variety of reasons. I know all too well there is not a one size fits all approach to diet and lifestyle but this approach makes a big difference in our health.

I’m closing in on 50 years of being on the planet and in that time I’ve slowly worked out what my body needs to thrive and what makes me feel pretty awful. Top of that list is grains.
Wheat and corn (and argh can we talk about sugar?!) are like kryptonite to my system (and the kids it turns out – genetics, sorry guys). That said, actually living day to avoiding these things can be tough. Cravings and old habits truly do die hard.
My personal challenges include poor gut health, insulin resistance, histamine issues and inflammation – just to name a few….
This page and my blog are no more than my ponderings, findings and experiences in navigating life – grain-free. I hope that what I learn and share can help others on the same path.
I do have a background in natural health I’ve studied naturopathy, nutrition and herbal medicine but didn’t finish the course when I figured out I didn’t really want to do it for a living, just loved having the knowledge. I am a qualified health coach through IIN and have completed the Bio-Individual Nutrition training by Julie Matthews.
All of that aside I’m a mad researcher and love to problem solve and get to the bottom of things and then share what I discover with others. There is SO much information, and a lot of it conflicting, on the internet. My passion is digging in and thinking outside of the box to help improve the health and lifestyle of the people I care about.
So welcome and hope you decided to come along for the ride!
